Badamwari, nestled among the majestic Himalayas, is famous for its breathtaking beauty during springtime. The almond orchards here burst with pink and white blossoms, creating a mesmerizing view.
For generations, Badamwari has been a cherished part of Kashmir’s culture. Locals and tourists alike are captivated by its natural charm.
These days Badamwari has transformed into a major attraction for the locals and tourists alike. Reflecting on the significance of Badamwari, MutaharAmeen ,a local resident said, “For us, the blooming of almond blossoms at Badamwari is not just a visual delight but a spiritual experience. It marks the arrival of spring, a season of new beginnings and growth.”
Several visitors expressed similar views terming the nature’s spectacle. These days visitors are flocking to Badamwari to immerse themselves in its ethereal ambiance and capture the essence of Kashmir’s natural splendor.
Tourists like PreetiAggarwal visiting from Mumbai, marvel at the sight, saying, “I have seen pictures of Badamwari, but experiencing it in person is truly magical. It’s like stepping into a painting.”
Enthralled by the beauty of Badamwari , a group of tourists from Delhi revealed, “Badamwari leaves a lasting impression on all who experience its splendour. It serves as a reminder of nature’s resilience and the timeless allure of Kashmir’s landscapes. For locals and visitors alike. You feel like visiting this place again and again.”
Badamwari not only captivates with its natural beauty but also serves as a hub for cultural exchanges and community gatherings. During the blooming season, cultural events and performances are organized, showcasing Kashmir’s rich heritage through music, dance, and art. These events foster a sense of unity and pride among locals, highlighting the cultural significance of Badamwari beyond its scenic charm.
“The combination of pink and white flowers has given it an unmatched beauty. This is what makes Kashmir heaven on earth, as every season has its own charm. There are so many bad notions about Kashmir, but there is nothing like that here,” said Sangita a tourist from Delhi.
For Sangeeta, a first-time visitor from New Delhi, the sight of the blossoming almonds served as an unparalleled inauguration to her trip. “This is a completely different garden. This is my first visit to the Valley, and I have never seen anything like this. This is the best curtain raiser of my trip,” she said, awestruck by the enchanting display.
“Badamwari is not just about flowers; it’s about celebrating our identity and heritage. Through cultural events held here, we aim to preserve our traditions and share them with the world.” Aijaz Ahmad, an official at the tourism department said.
“Adding, “During this season of the year Badamwari attracts tourists from outside in huge numbers which provides a boost to the business establishments around the area as tourists indulge in shopping or relishing Kashmiri delicacies.”
Badamwari Garden holds significant cultural, traditional, and heritage value, with its origins dating back to the 14th century. After a period of neglect, it was revived and officially opened to the public in 2008, and since then, the allure of Badamwari has captivated thousands of tourists every season.
