Two day 34th Jammu district volleyball championship for boys and girls concludes

Jammu, Oct 15: Borderline volleyball club Pallanwala in boys section clinched the championship by defeating Allaha volleyball club by 3-0 sets ( 25-15,25-19,25-17) whereas in Girls section Senior Trikuta volleyball club Jammu defeated Junior Trikuta volleyball club Jammu by 3-2 sets ( 23-25,23-25,25-15,25-10,15-10).
The district volleyball championship was organised by Jammu district volleyball Association under the aegis of Volleyball Association of J&K sponsored by J&K sports council in which total 16 teams participated among 10 were in boys and six were in girls section.
Kulbir Singh CO 18IRP Bn was the chief guest and underlined the importance of sports in making the country healthy.
He appreciated the efforts of the Volleyball Association of J&K office bearers especially Sh. Raj Daluja,Patron-in-chief, Volleyball Association of J&K for spreading volleyball games in every corner of the J&K Union territory.
Raj Daluja gave cash prizes of ₹5000 to the both winning teams and ₹2000 to both runner ups teams in both boys and girls section.
The trophies and mementos were also given away to the officials by the chief guest. Earlier H.S Gill, secretary of Jammu district volleyball Association gave details of the championship and thanked Police, Jammu and Kashmir sports council and Jammu center of Sports Authority of India for extending their support and cooperation in making the championship a grand success.
The emphasis during the championship was laid down prominently on the “My Youth My Pride” mission initiated by the Jammu and Kashmir sports council.
Among the dignitaries Col. Gurbaksh Singh Gill, KuldeepMagotra, CEO of Volleyball Association of J&K, V K Magotra General Secretary, Volleyball Association of J &K Romesh Sharma, Treasurer Volleyball Association of J&K, HS Gill Vice-President Volleyball Association of J&K, Mohammad Tariq Joint secretary Volleyball Association of J&K, Akbar Ali office secretary Volleyball Association of J&K, Rajeev Dogra SAI coach, Naresh Kumar Coach also graced the tournament.
Amarjeet Singh National Referee, Amit Sharma National Referee, Bhawna Sharma National Referee, Anil kumar National Referee, NehaBhagat scorer officiated the matches, successfully.
