Burn Hall conducts annual Cross Country Run

Srinagar, Oct 15: Burn Hall School conducted an annual Cross-Country run for the students of classes 6th to 10th on Oct 15 for a stretch of about 10 kms which included climbing hill, crossing-river, bridges and city.
The run was flagged off by ManshaBeig, SDPO, Nehru Park, who while addressing the students motivated them to be physically fit and mentally healthy along with their academics.
A total of 450 young and shining Hallions took part in the run. Fr. Suresh Britto, the in charge of Sports Department said that the Cross-Country Run was primarily aimed at integrating students with nature and instill in them love, care and respect towards environment and discipline, direction and order in the guise of carefree enjoyment.
Fr. Stalin Raja, the principal warmly welcomed the students for their active participation and received them at the finishing point.
He also thanked the entire staff and in particular the sports teachers for successfully organizing the run.
The Sports Department of Government Polytechnic College Jammu conducted a Badminton Tournament in the premises of the institution. The tournament commenced from 12th of October, 2022 on Knock out basis in Singles category for boys and girls. Prior to the Inter Department Tournament each department selected their own players for their entry in the Inter-Departmental Tournament of the College.
In the Final match, Er. RituJamwal, Principal Government Polytechnic, Jammu was Chief Guest and Inderjeet Singh, Workshop Superintendent was Guest of Honour. Er. RituJamwal while speaking on the occasion encouraged all participants to take part in Sports activities to keep themselves fit and healthy and to play the games with Sportsman spirit.
In Semi Final (Boys) Rohin Singh Charak (Comp. Engg) beat ZaheenRafique (T&T), 2- 0; Umar Parvaiz Dar (Civil Engg.) beat Vasu Gupta (Mechanical Engg), 2- 1; Final (Boys), Umar Parvaiz Dar (Civil Engg) beat Rohin Singh Charak (Computer Engg), 2 – 1; Final (Girls), Ananya Sharma (Civil Engg) beat ShabnumFirdous (I&C), 2 – 0.
