Secy, JKSC kick starts district Taekwondo championship in Baramulla

Srinagar, Sep 18: Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council Nuzhat Gull Sunday kick started third district Baramulla Taekwondo championships at Indoor Sports Complex, KhwajaBagh, Baramulla.
As per the official a much awaited premier Taekwondo Championships was held Sunday in which around 90 taekwondo players across district Baramulla participated and showcased their talent in the district level championship.
Secretary, J&K Sports Council Nuzhat Gull was the Chief Guest at the opening ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion Gull congratulated participants and organizers for organizing such an event.
Secretary JKSC kicked off the opening matches for both male and female athletes and assured all possible help to promote the Taekwondo sport in the entire Baramulla district.
She urged all the players to remain fit and healthy, for achieving fruitful results in competitions and apprised players to remain vigilant related to drug menace.
Majeed Ahmad Manager, JKSC Baramulla, NissarHussain Vice President, JKTA, Dr. Khalid Mehraj Patron District Baramulla Taekwondo Association, RameezMehraj Secretary, BTA and Showkat Ahmad Incharge, Indoor Stadium Baramulla, Joint Secretary BTA MumtazNazir were other special guests on the occasion.
The championship was held under the supervision of Advocate Neelofar Masood, President District Baramulla Taekwondo Association.
“The young kids were having an enormous craze in their eyes for the said event. Many senior coaches and athletes also took part to glorify the championship,” an official said.
Officials added the championship is the only of its kind, where players secure a chance to have the International level of exposure during the play while applying the latest international standard ruling.
The playoff ceremony was observed by the players, officials and parents as well.
The competition is composed of all age divisions with the inclusion of the youngest age division (Pee Wee category) recently introduced by world taekwondo.
The first day witnessed a massive combative skill show between the Sub-Junior, Junior Athletes, Cadet and Senior will showcase their talent on September 19, 2022, officially informed. The Championships was started with the demonstration of Taekwondo skills by young boys and girls of different clubs and institutions from Baramulla district.
The Championship is being organized by Baramulla Taekwondo Association under the aegis of J&K Taekwondo Association.
