Theft case solved in Budgam, two accused arrested: Police

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday said it has solved theft case by arresting two accused and recovered stolen property in Chadoora area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

 

 

A police spokesman said that on 18/12/2022, Police Station Chadoora received an information that at main market Chadoora near R&B office (Doobi Complex) three shops belonging to Showkat Ahmed Sonu son of Ghulam Nabi Sonu resident of Chanapora Srinagar, Mohammad Shaeb Chinga son of Ali Mohammad Chinga resident of Natipora Srinagar and Muzamil Ahmed Dar son of Ghulam Nabi Dar resident of Ragar Chadoora have been broke open by unknown theives using one JCB machine and stolen electronic items, mobile phones accessories etc. 

 

“Upon this information, case FIR Number *203/2022* under relevant section of laws was registered at Police Station Chadoora and investigation taken up”, he said.

 

The Spokesman said that during the course of investigation, police team of Police Station Chadoora put strenuous efforts and working on some leads, two suspects were brought for questioning from Shopian. During questioning of the said suspects, they admitted their involvement in the occurance with common intention. The accused were arrested and upon their disclosure, following stolen items have been recovered:

 

01) Mobile Phones 03 Numbers

02) Redmi Power Bank 03 Numbers

03 Smart Watch 03 Numbers

04 Realmi MP3 01 Number

05 Torch 01 number

Moreover, stolen 01 JCB Machine was also recovered from the arrested persons. 

 

 

 

The accused arrested persons have been identified as Mehraj Ahmad Sheikh son of Gulzar Ahmad Sheikh and Ikhlas Bhat son of Bashir Ahmad Bhat both residents of Dashnoo, Heerpora district Shopain.

 

 “Meanwhile, during sustained questioning, it surfaced that the JCB machine used for commission of crime belonged to one Basharat Ahmed Yatoo son of Haji Noor Mohammad Yatoo resident of Chadoora which was stolen by accused persons during intervening night of 17-18/12/2022. During further investigation it surfaced that one accused namely Ikhkas Bhat was working as Helper with the owner of the JCB machine and he had kept hidden one spare key of JCB Machine. Investigation into the matter is going on”, he said.
