New Twitter CEO, Elon Musk, on Friday, announced that he will begin ‘general amnesty’ for other suspended accounts after reinstating former US president Donald Trump’s Twitter handle.
Taking to Twitter, Musk wrote, “The people have spoken. Amnesty begins next week. Vox Populi, Vox Dei.”
Vox Populi, Vox Dei, a Latin phrase meaning “the voice of the people is the voice of God.”
Twitter CEO Musk has put up a poll asking users of the microblogging website to vote on whether the microblogging site should offer a general amnesty to other suspended accounts provided that they have not broken the law or engaged in egregious spam.
As per the survey results, slightly over 3 million people voted in the poll and with the majority of 72.4 per cent of voting in favour of amnesty.
“Should Twitter offer a general amnesty to suspended accounts, provided that they have not broken the law or engaged in egregious spam?” Musk tweeted.
Earlier, Musk put up a poll asking users of the microblogging website to vote on whether to reinstate the account of former US President Donald Trump, who was earlier subjected to a lifetime ban over incitement of violence.
