Jammu, Nov 25: Government on Friday announced winter vacations in schools upto higher secondary level in Kashmir Zone and winter zone of Jammu division with effect from December 1st to February 28.
As per an order issued by Alok Kumar, principal secretary to the government, School Education Department, both government and private schools upto 5th standard in Kashmir Zone and winter zone of Jammu division shall observe the holidays from December 1st to February 28, 2023 whereas schools upto 8th standard shall observe the holidays from December 12, 2022 to February 28, 2023.
Meanwhile, it has also been ordered that government and private schools upto 12th standard shall observe the winter vacations from December 19, 2022 to February 28, 2023.
It has been further ordered that the teaching staff of High and Higher Secondary schools shall report back to their respective schools on February 20, 2023, so that they remain available for making arrangements regarding preparation of the ensuing season.
“All teachers shall remain available on demand for any online guidance of students during the vacation period, ” ordered the government.
“Any default on part of the head of the school/teaching staff in observance of the fixed schedule shall also attract strict action under rules,” the government further ordered.
