Srinagar, Nov 12: Two migrant labourers were shot at and injured after terrorists fired upon them in Rakh-Momin area of Anantnag district in south Kashmir, police said on Saturday.

In a tweet, Police spokesman said “Terrorists fired upon & injured two outside labourers in Rakh-Momin area of Anantnag. Both the injured are being shifted to hospital for treatment. Area being cordoned off.”

The injured were identified as Prasad and Govind from Uttar Pradesh.

Following the attack, the duo has been shifted to GMC Anantnag, where they are being treated. “Both are stable and are out of danger,” a police official said.

Soon after the attack, senior Police officers immediately reached the terror crime spot.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered and a search is underway to trace the terrorists.

The police official said they continue to work to establish the full circumstances of this terror crime. The area has been cordoned and searches in the area are going on, he said.

Earlier this month, two migrant labourers who were working at a private school in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district were shot at and injured in a similar kind of incident.

On October 18, two non-local migrant labourers from Uttar Pradesh were killed in an overnight grenade attack in Shopian.
