Elderly Man Slips Into Well, Timely Rescued By Locals, Police in Sogam

A 75-year-old man was timely rescued after he slipped into a well in Sogam in Kupwara district this afternoon.

Reports reaching GNS said that a person namely Ghulam Mohammad Ganie son of Amer Ganie fell into the well outside his home at Ganie Mohalla Sogam.

Soon as the news spread, locals and police swung into action to bring the person out of the well. After nearly an hour of hectic efforts, the person was finally pulled out and shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

SHO Sogam Tanveer Ahmed told GNS that a rescue operation was launched soon after they received the information. “The overall condition of the person is stable”, the official said. (GNS)
