3 JKP officers/officials awarded Union Home Minister’s Medal

Jammu, Jan 12: Three officers and officials of Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy, Udhampur (SKPAU) have been awarded the Union Home Minister’s Medal for excellence in training for the year 2021-22.  The medals were conferred upon Mohan Lal, JKPS, SSP, Dy. Director, Ashok Kumar, Inspector (S), and SgCt. Mastan Singh.
DGP J&K Dilbag Singh has congratulated all the awardees for their achievement and for bringing laurels to the organization. He said the professionalism and dedication of JKP is being recognized in different fields. He hoped that every recognition by the government will continue to boost the morale of JKP officers and officials.
The DGP thanked Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Lt. Governor J&K Manoj Sinha and the government for recognizing the work of JKP officers and jawans time and again.
“The award is given to recognize the importance of training and trainers in police organization and making training a respectable assignment, also to promote the quality of training in police training institutes in the country,” a police spokesperson said in a statement.
It is pertinent to mention here that Mohan Lal is a recipient of President’s Police Medal for Gallantry, President’s Police Medal for Gallantry 1st Bar, President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Services. He was recently conferred with the Prestigious Nelson Mandela Peace Award-2022 in the field of “good governance and social service for his noble and excellent contribution to peace building, peace loving, peace living to serve humanity beyond all boundaries through social welfare activities”. He was also awarded Honorary Doctorate in Good Governance and Social Welfare by St. Mother Theresa University.
Inspector (S) Ashok Kumar rendered seven years of exemplary service in the academy. He has authored the S K Police Academy song which was approved and released by DGP J&K in the Academic Council Meeting in February 2021. Apart from organizing and designing Establishment Course for the Ministerial Executive Cadre, he played a pivotal role in organizing the first-ever hackathon by this academy on the theme “Eve Teasing”. 
SgCt. Mastan Singh performed duty with zeal & zest in imparting training to Prob. DySsP and Prob. SIs. He has outstanding professional capabilities. 
Garib Dass, IPS, ADGP, Director, S K Police Academy Udhampur felicitated the awardees and hoped that they will perform duty with similar dedication in the future.
