Bandipora, Dec 02: A well- known innovator from north Kashmir Bandipora district has modified the Kangri and enhanced its performance, making it suitable for use in all types of weather.
Hailing from Watapora village of district, Mohammad Ismail commonly known as Ismail Newton has not only modified Kangri but had developed automatic Ventilator, Automatic disinfectant spray last year that earned him acclaim from Harvard Medical school.
In a Chat with Rising Kashmir, Ismail said that the modified Kangri can also be powered by water and electricity, in addition to charcoal.
He said that this Kangri would not just be restricted for winter use, but could also be used as a cooling device in the summer time.
He also said that it would be completely secure, and he would be incorporating twenty-one extra characteristics in it.
Ismail said that one of the elements he will introduce to his innovation is an alert in case of a fire in the vicinity. “The majority of these components will be founded on sensor technology given its broad potential,” he continued.
He stated that he is also working to create several novel creations. “I am doing what I can to support the community through whatever means are accessible. Imagination and invention are two aptitudes that are immensely esteemed in today’s society and ought to be respected more,” he declared.
“We have a culture that sees innovation as outlandishness, yet our prosperity relies upon recognizing more daring people and their originality so the modern revolution can impact our society”, he continued.
Kangri, an earthen pot entwined with wicker loaded up with hot embers is not just a device utilized for warmth during winters, it has its heritage and speaks to the bright and exquisite culture of Kashmir.
The Kashmiri idiom “What Laila was on Majnun’s bosom (Legendary Lovers), so is the Kanger to a Kashmiri”, encapsulates the connection between a Kashmiri and the Kanger and its cultural significance.
