Rajouri, Sep 15: A daylong awareness program on ill effects of drugs was organised on Thursday for field functionaries of the ICDS Department here in the Conference Hall of the PWD Dakbunglow.
The event was organised on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal and under the overall supervision of the Program Officer ICDS, Shoket Mehmood Malik.
At the outset, the PO ICDS underlined that eradication of the menace of drugs from society is the collective responsibility of all.
“The District Administration is working on a multi-pronged strategy for the welfare of the youth and to enable them to achieve the best and live a respectful life in society”, he said.
He further said that all possible efforts are being made to curb the menace of drug abuse in the district to keep the youth on the right track.
The PO ICDS also apprised the participants that a series of awareness programs and many sports-related and other activities are being held regularly to channelize the potential of the youth towards a positive direction and also to keep them away from drug addiction.
During the program, the participants were also told that besides de-addicting the drug users, there is a dire need to address the major reasons which provoke the youth to take drugs. They were also urged to work religiously to eliminate drug abuse from the district and make Rajouri and Nasha Mukt district.
