Srinagar, Dec 05: The locals of Kalashpora area of old town Srinagar have expressed deep concern against the rapid growth of dog terror in and outside the premises of shrine.
The locals said those visiting shrine for prayers are witnessing huge inconvenience citing reason for presence of growing canine population in the area.
They said the dogs continue to haunt the area, as civic authorities have failed to take steps to curb the menace, they can be seen moving daringly in and outside the surroundings of shrine, spontaneously causes impediment to number of people in visiting shrine for five time prayers.
A senior member of the area Altaf Ahmad Bhat told that “the authorities have failed to initiate any concrete efforts to control the problem in the area, despite many complaints, every day dogs are triggering panic with many scared of coming out of their houses as the canine terror kept prowling here throughout the day. Whenever our children go out to play, we accompany them to watch for the dogs in the streets, our lane bylanes are always extremely stinky and dirty with the excretion of stray dogs,” he added.
The locals however appealed higher ups of Srinagar Municipal Corporation to contain the dog terror in the area at earliest so that the locals here could heave a sigh of relief and ensure hassle-free movement of devotees to the shrine.
