Srinagar, Oct 12: Islamia College of Science and Commerce (ICSC) Wednesday made it to the finals of Inter College cricket championship organized by the Physical Education Department of Kashmir University while defeating University Eleven by a margin of 10 runs.
As per the officials, in a closely held contest, ICSC team won the toss and chose to bat first.
Openers Ghazi Mushtaq and captain Mohammed Hurrair laid a sound foundation of 36 runs playing strokes all around the ground.
Ghazi top scored with 43 and Hurrair contributing 26. Middle order continued the good work with Quanain chipping in with 20 and Zameer 15.
Team gave the target of 139 to opponents in stipulated 20 overs.
ICSC bowlers kept things quiet by some good swing bowling removing dangerous Asim Bashir, who had scored three centuries in previous matches cheaply.
Kamran was the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 19. Quanian took two wickets. Kamran was adjudged man of the match.
Principal, Dr.ShiekhAjaz Bashir appreciated the team in a brief post match ceremony and wished them well for the finals scheduled next week.
