Srinagar, Nov 21: The Jammu and Kashmir Government is set to integrate all the recommended services with Single Window System to simplify the regulatory burdens of businesses in order to achieve better rating under the Business Reform Action Plan (BRAP).

In this regard, the government has directed all the administrative secretaries to ensure monitoring of the integration process in consultation with Industries and Commerce Department, Information Technology and NIC, according to an official order issued by secretary to the government, General Administrative Department, Dr Piyush Singla.

The proposed BRAP 2022 ratings are expected to be released by February 2023.

This will help to get the cent percent feedback of users on Ease of Doing Business (EODB) or Ease of Living (EOL) in the union territory so that better assessment ratings could be achieved under BRAP-2022, as per the order reviewed by Rising Kashmir.

The order further reads that it has been observed that one of the key requirements under BRAP is to integrate J&K Single Window Portal with other Departmental Portals/Online Systems where under, Government to Business (G2B) and Government to Citizens (G2C) services are being provided.

“The integration of such services would require on boarding of these platforms with J&K Single Window Clearance System under BRAP, 2022 so that the applications are approved or otherwise within a stipulated time as per the Public Services Guarantee Act,” the order said.

In the recently released BRAP 2020 report by Union Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, Jammu and Kashmir has been listed in Emerging Business Ecosystems (EBEs) category along with Bihar, Chandigarh, Delhi, Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura, Puducherry, among others.

A senior official in the J & K government told Rising Kashmir that J&K has come a long way since 2020 in creating an enabling and entrepreneurial-friendly environment that will facilitate the sustainable growth and development of industrial enterprises.

“There has been a fundamental shift in the policy as well as the implementation. With a robust single window system in place, more than 215 services online, over 3000 burdensome compliances reduced, J&K is set for a quantum leap in proposed BRAP 2022 reforms,” he said.
