21 trainers from J&K SqayAssociation to attend National Referee Seminar in Goa

Srinagar, May 08: In an effort to promote and develop the Indian martial art of Sqay, a group of 21 members consisting of both male and female trainers from Sqay Association of Jammu & Kashmir are set to attend the National Referee Seminar/Training Camp/Orientation Programme at Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium in Margao, Goa.
 The event is being organized by Sqay Association of Goa under the auspices of Sqay Martial Art Federation (India), which is the national governing body for the promotion and development of Sqay Martial Art in India.
The Sqay Association of Jammu & Kashmir has already finalized the calendar of activities for the year 2023-24 at the club, district, and union territory level in J&K. Additionally, they have requested the Sqay Martial Art Federation (India) for the allotment of the Sub-Junior National Sqay Martial Art Championship in Srinagar, and they are hoping that the national body will grant their request.
The General Council of Sqay Martial Art Federation (India) has already decided on an amendment in rules and regulations during its last meeting to uplift this Indian martial art of Sqay, and many more changes are expected during the annual general meeting at Goa, taking this beautiful Indian art to greater heights.
The team of trainers from Jammu & Kashmir, accompanied by Mr. Umer Akbar, Technical Director of Sqay Association of Jammu & Kashmir as the contingent head, will leave for Goa on 9th May 2023, under the banner of Sqay Association of Jammu & Kashmir and sponsored by Navyug Industries Pvt. Ltd.
The men’s team comprises Arif Hussain, Adil Ahmad, Haris Shafi, Sajad Ahmad, Javed Khan, Sudhir Chib, Tahir Shah, Jibran Dar, Shazad Khan, Amit Kumar, and Umer. The women’s team includes Shabnam Jan, Rabia Akhter, Razia Altaf, Shaista Nabi, Shagufta Wani, Asiya Khan, Qurat Bashir, Aiman Hassan, Seerat Mir, and Rifat Jan. All of them are participating in the National Technical Courses.
Sqay Association of Jammu & Kashmir is eagerly waiting for the allotment of Nationals, which will be hosted by the association in a professional manner. The event is expected to provide an opportunity for trainers to enhance their skills and knowledge in Sqay and to meet with other trainers from different parts of the country.
