Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police on Sunday arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
A Police spokesperson said, During Naka checking at Pakherpora Zanigam, police party of out post Hardipanzo intercepted one Taveera vehicle bearing registration number (PB01-9331) with 02 persons onboard. During search
contraband Poppy Straw and charas like powder weighing 1200 grams and 40 grams respectively was recovered from their possession.
“The arrested drug peddlers have been subsequently identified as Nadeem Ahmad Ganai S/o Ab Rehman Ganai R/o Sonpah Beerwah and Shabir Ahmad Mir S/o Gh Rasool Mir R/o Waragam Beerwah”, he said.
Police said that Case FIR number 35/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Beerwah & investigation taken up.
