Jammu, June 7: In a move aimed at improving passenger convenience and train punctuality, Northern Railway’s Jammu Division has eliminated the persistent delays of Train No. 12413/12414 Pooja Express by preparing an additional rake, enabling the train to operate as per its scheduled timings.
According to railway officials, the train had been running behind schedule by 15 to 20 hours due to traffic blocks and operational constraints in the Delhi Division.
Since the primary maintenance of the train is carried out in Jammu, the recurring delays had posed a major challenge for railway authorities and caused inconvenience to passengers.
To address the issue, Jammu Division, in coordination with Northern Railway Headquarters, devised a plan to create an additional rake. Officials identified and assembled the required coaches and, through efficient shunting and operational planning, successfully prepared a parallel rake for the train.
The initiative has yielded immediate results, with Train No. 12414 operating on schedule from June 7, officials said. They added that the move has significantly improved operational efficiency and reduced inconvenience to passengers.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Uchit Singhal, said the initiative demonstrates how innovation, coordination and commitment can help overcome operational challenges. He reiterated Jammu Division’s commitment to providing safe, efficient and timely services to passengers.
