Integrated Election Control Room & MCMC Centre launched in Srinagar

Srinagar, Mar 19: To enhance coordination among line departments for the smooth conduct of upcoming LokSabha election-related activities and to monitor violations of the model code of conduct (MCC), an Integrated Election Control Room and Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) Centre have been established at the DC/DEO Office in Srinagar.
Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, DC Srinagar/District Election Officer Srinagar, conducted an inspection of the Integrated Election Control Room and MCMC Centre equipped with the latest technologies for the transparent conduct of the LokSabha elections-2024 in the district.
During the visit, Dr.Bhat assessed the facilities and equipment installed at both locations and interacted with the designated Nodal Officers and deployed staff.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr.Bhat highlighted that, as per the directions of the Election Commission of India, the Integrated Election Control Room has been established to effectively coordinate the functioning of various agencies engaged in the election process.
He further explained that the Integrated Election Control Room will facilitate call receiving on 1950, scrutiny of the model code of conduct (MCC) violations by media channels, social media analysis, C-vigil teams deployment, and addressing general grievances related to the election through the ECI portal.
Similarly, the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) Centre at the District Level will work in accordance with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India to closely monitor paid news during the LokSabha Elections-2024.
The MCMC will provide certification after scrutinizing political advertisements to be telecast/broadcast over TV/Radio Channels/Audio-Video displays/cinema halls/Internet-based media/Websites, including social media, e-papers, and cable networks during General Elections.
The visit was attended by Nodal Officer MCMC, AhsanulHaqChisti, Nodal Officer, Integrated Election Control Room, MirzaShahid Ali, and other concerned officials.
