Jammu, Aug 11: JKNC Provincial President Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta, on Friday said the party will secure a majority in the upcoming ULB elections in Rajouri and Poonch districts.
Interacting with the functionaries of Rajouri Rural unit at Marchola in Sunderbani, the senior NC leader asserted that Rajouri and Poonch districts witnessed unprecedented support for the National Conference under the leadership of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah.
“The frustrated BJP leadership will face a significant defeat in the impending ULB elections as the people of Pir Panjal region have already decided to give their mandate to the NC in upcoming elections,” he said.
According to a party statement, Gupta held threadbare discussions with the functionaries of Kalakote, Sunderbani, and Nowshera units. He said the people of Rajouri district are facing difficulties due to “hollow slogans” and “unfulfilled promises” made by the BJP leadership. “Even the party functionaries of the BJP have become frustrated that recently they submitted mass resignations from their party posts in this region,” he said.
The Provincial President assured that the National Conference will give a tough fight in the ensuing polls. He called upon party workers to gear up to ensure the victory of the party in the forthcoming polls.
