Jammu, July 9: Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir unit has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Indian soldiers in Kathua, Jammu division, in which five soldiers including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) were martyred. The party has demanded that a tough lesson be taught to Pakistan for its nefarious activities.
At a press conference held at the party’s state central office, state chief Manish Sahni said that the time has come to teach a lesson to Pakistan by taking strong retaliatory action against its terrorist activities. He termed all the claims of the central government regarding peace restoration in Jammu and Kashmir as hollow.
“Terrorist organizations active in Jammu and Kashmir have established a foothold in the Jammu division, along with Kashmir. The army and innocent people are being targeted by hiding in dense forests and hilly areas,” he said.
Manish said that six terrorist attacks have taken place in the Jammu division in the last month, with this being the second major attack in Kathua district in a month. “In these attacks, 10 civilians have died and five soldiers have made the supreme sacrifice,” he said.
The Shiv Sena (UBT) leader recalled that earlier, on June 9, terrorists had ambushed a bus carrying pilgrims from Shiv Khodi temple in Reasi district. After the firing by the terrorists, the bus fell into a ditch. In this incident, nine people lost their lives, while 41 people were injured, he said.
Sahni warned terrorist organisations and local people helping them to refrain from nefarious and cowardly acts. He demanded that intelligence agencies be extra vigilant and conduct thorough investigations of forest and hilly areas.
