Kulgam, July 29: The sacred Ashoora (10th Moharram) procession was peacefully taken out in Shahoo Sachan, Pahloo area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday. The Ashoora mourning was attended by the top district officials.
The Muharram Ashoora mourning was attended by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kulgam, along with the Superintendent of Police (SP), Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) of National Highway, Tehsildar Pahloo, and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP), among other officers and officials.
During his visit to the Shia-inhabited area, DC Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, took a hands-on approach and actively participated in the observance of Ashoora mourning. He also thoroughly reviewed the arrangements put in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the procession and the safety and well-being of the Shia community.
An official said, the DC meticulously inspected the available services and facilities, leaving no stone unturned in his dedication to providing a safe and supportive environment for the mourners.
“The assessment included essential amenities such as drinking water, healthcare services, power supply, and sanitation facilities. The administration is committed to ensuring a seamless observance of Ashoora,” he said.
A Shia mourner said, the Ashoora gathering, emphasized the unity it brought among people from different walks of life who assembled in love for the Prophets and Ahle Bayt.
“The martyrdom of Prophet Hussain (AS) in Karbala stands as a testament to the end of tyranny and the upholding of Islam. Today, those gathered here are ready to sacrifice everything in love for Ahle Bayt,” he said.
Civil, police admin facilitated Moharamprocessions in Budgam
Budgam, July 29: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) CKR Srinagar, Sujit Kumar-IPS alongside Deputy Commissioner Budgam Akshay Labroo and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Budgam, Tahir – Al-Gilani along with other officers, visited the Moharam Processions in Budgam to oversee and ensure smooth conduct.
The officers thoroughly reviewed the arrangements for security and traffic facilitation during the Processions.
Robust security measures were put in place to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants and attendees. To streamline traffic flow and avoid any disruptions, the police set up several diversion points strategically to divert traffic away from the procession routes.
This helped in minimizing any inconvenience to the general public while allowing the processions to proceed unhindered.
