Anantnag, July 16: The Nunwan Base Camp Hospital in Pahalgam has emerged as a crucial healthcare facility, providing vital medical treatment to over 14,000 Yatras during the sacred Amarnath Yatra.
Operating exclusively during the Yatra season, this 15-bedded hospital offers comprehensive healthcare services, including check-ups, consultations, and free dispensing of essential medicines.
Shabir Ah Malik, the Incharge of the Nunwan Base Camp Hospital, said the medical facility has remained committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of the pilgrims undertaking the Yatras. With its array of medical health care facilities, the hospital has proven to be an invaluable resource for Yatris, delivering high-quality medical services throughout the Yatra season.
Shabir Ah Malik expressed his pride in the hospital’s accomplishments, stating, “The Nunwan Base Camp Hospital is dedicated to providing comprehensive healthcare services to all pilgrims during the Amarnath Yatra. We are honored to have treated over 14,000 yatris so far, and we remain committed to offering top-notch medical care to those in need.”
He further emphasized the hospital’s primary objective of providing accessible healthcare services to all yatris without any financial burden. By offering free check-ups and medicines, the hospital aims to ensure that every Yatri receives the necessary care during their pilgrimage.
Rahul, a pilgrim from Madhya Pradesh, shared his personal experience, stating, “I found myself in a challenging situation during my Amarnath Yatra journey when I started experiencing diarrhea and fever.” Fortunately, the Nunwan Base Camp Hospital was readily available to provide immediate medical assistance. Rahul expressed his gratitude towards the caring and attentive doctors and staff at the hospital who conducted a thorough check-up, prescribed appropriate medication, and provided essential advice on managing his symptoms. Thanks to their prompt and compassionate care, he was able to recover quickly, appreciating the support during this challenging phase of his pilgrimage.
Yogita, another pilgrim from Meerut, shared a similar sentiment, saying, “I have never felt so scared in my life when I suddenly fell unconscious during the Amarnath Yatra.” She expressed her relief when she was swiftly brought to the Nunwan Base Camp Hospital, where the medical staff acted promptly and professionally. They provided immediate attention, revived her, and closely monitored her condition. Yogita acknowledged that their quick response and expertise saved her from a potentially dangerous situation. She expressed immense gratitude to the hospital and its dedicated team for their timely intervention and exceptional care.
In addition to the Nunwan Base Camp Hospital, several other hospitals at Sheeshnag, Panchtarni, and Baltal are also equipped with necessary medical facilities and staffed by healthcare professionals, who tirelessly provide essential medical services to the Yatris.
