YSS in collaboration with Budgam admin starts basic ski training course

BUDGAM: For the first time in the Budgam district, the Youth Services and Sports department in collaboration with the district administration in Budgam has started a basic ski training course for the boys and girls students from nine districts of Kashmir valley  are participating in this training course, which is going on in the famous tourist destination Yousmarg area in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
 
District Youth Service and Sports Officer Budgam, Gurmukh Singh told the Rising Kashmir that for the first time, a basic ski-training course for the school-going students has been started in Budgam district by the Youth Services and Sports department in collaboration with the district administration in Budgam.
 
“The 15-days basic ski-training course for boys students has already started, and 50 boys students from the nine districts of the Kashmir valley are receiving the basic ski-training in Yousmarg. “These students have been coming from the various schools through the district youth services and sports department,” Singh said.
 
He said that this is a 15-day basic ski course. In which these 50 boys students will be properly trained and will also be given proper knowledge regarding snow skinning, However, 10 local youths from Nagbal village in the Yousmarg area are being trained during the sphere time. So, these youths can open their skinning shop and get a source of unemployment from this tourist destination.
 
“The 15-day basic course for the girl students will also start on February 15.” In this course, 50 girl students from the nine districts are going to participate. The basic course for the boy students will be completed on February 14. “After that, we can start the girls’ students’ course,” Singh said.
 
He said that the students are given free accommodations, training, food, and equipment, and they do not have to spend a single penny of their own money on this basic ski training course. After completing the training course, proper certificates will also be issued. 
 
“If any local girl student from the Yousmarg area wants to receive this training, she needs to approach us. “We can also provide training to the local girls,” he added.
 
He further said that the Budgam district has huge potential to boost the winter tourism sector in the district. When the local youths get the training tomorrow, they can open their own skinning shop in the Doodhpathri and Yousmarg areas, where tourists will prefer to visit these two tourist destinations, and it will also help boost the winter tourism in the Yousmarg and Doodpathri areas.
 
 
Deputy commissioner of Budgam district, Syeed Fahrudin Hamid, said that district administration is providing fully supporting to the youth services sports department to conduct this basic ski training course in Yousmarg.
 
“The tourists should come to visit Doodhpathri and Yousmarg and should explore these tourist destinations in the Budgam district,” he said.
