Anantnag District Squash Championship 2023 declared open

Anantnag, July 30: The Anantnag District Squash Championship 2023 was inaugurated on Sunday with great enthusiasm at the J&K Sports Council Squash Complex. The championship, organized by the Anantnag Squash Rackets Association and sponsored by the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council, commenced with the opening ceremony graced by Dar Siraj Ud Din, Chairman of Learn to Play Sports Academy.
The two-day tournament, titled “MY YOUTH MY PRIDE,” will be held from July 30 to July 31, 2023, and features participation from 68 players representing various schools in the district. Both boys and girls are competing in Sub Junior, Junior, and Senior categories, with a total of 18 matches in the Boys’ section and 16 matches in the Girls’ section.
In his address, the Chief Guest emphasized the importance of sports in maintaining both mental and physical well-being. He encouraged the young athletes to dedicate time to sports daily, emphasizing the numerous benefits it brings to their lives. He commended the organizers for promoting the Royal Sport of Squash through such tournaments and extended his gratitude to the J&K Sports Council for their efforts in encouraging youth involvement in sports and games across the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
The championship aims to foster a competitive spirit among the participants while also promoting the values of sportsmanship and camaraderie. The event has drawn considerable attention from the local community, and spectators are looking forward to witnessing thrilling matches in the coming days.
As the tournament progresses, players are expected to display their skills and determination on the court, vying for the championship title in their respective categories.
