Baramulla, Feb 24: A leopard was captured alive in the Andergam village of Pattan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday.
Javid Ahmad, a Wildlife official told Rising Kashmir that the leopard was captured after the department received a call about its presence in Andergam. “Soon after receiving information, the leopard was captured without causing any damage or injury to anyone,” he said, adding,
“The wild animal was hiding in the basement of a house. It was earlier roaming in the residential areas of Pattan posing a threat to the lives of people and their livestock,” Javid said, adding, “It took us around two hours to tranquilise the leopard.”
The leopard was taken to a safe location and set free, the official said.
