Police on Thursday said to have recovered an abducted girl and arrested 02 accused persons involved in the commission of crime in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A Police spokesperson said, On 01/07/2023, Police Post Palhallan received a written complaint from one person (name withheld) stating therein that his daughter aged about 19 years was missing from home since 30/06/2023.
“Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 222/ 2023 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Pattan and investigation was initiated.”
“During the course of investigation, it came fore that some unknown persons have abducted the said missing girl. During further investigation, officers with the help of technical evidences learnt that the accused persons along with victim had left UT of J&K for New Delhi”, he said. Acting promptly, a team was constituted who accordingly went to New Delhi where from the abducted girl was recovered and the accused persons have also been arrested. They have been identified as Ashiq Ali Mangral son of Mohd Akram Mangral resident of Tuli Reasi & Deep Kumar son of Sadha Ram resident of Chalabeni Kathua.
After completing the legal formalities, the abductee was handed over to her legal heirs.
Further investigation of the case is going on.
