Srinagar, June 22: Due to prevailing heat wave in the Kashmir, Director of the School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has issued precautionary guidelines to educational institutes for safety of students.
Dr. Tassaduq Hussain, DSEK in a circular said that the prevailing heat wave in various parts of Kashmir Division may pose a risk to the health of the school going students.
“To combat the ill effects of the heat wave, the heads of all educational institutions have been advised to keep morning assembly brief and should be conducted in such an area where students are not exposed to direct sunlight. Sports and other outdoor activities should be adjusted in early hours,” reads the circular.
According to the order, overcrowding in school buses should be strictly avoided. “Drinking water and first aid kits must be available in buses. School Buses and vans should be parked in shaded areas.”
With regard to hydration, the circular said sufficient potable water be kept available at multiple places preferably in water coolers or earthen pots.
Similarly, students should be sensitized regarding proper hydration and advised to sip water at regular intervals.
