Bandipora, Aug 04: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad on Friday visited picturesque Chitternar Camping Site.
The DC was accompanied by Divisional Forest Officer, Mudassir Mehmood, Padma Shree Faisal Ali and other concerned officials.
During this visit, the DC interacted with children who had come for the camping experience organised by Ali Sports Academy in collaboration with District Administration Bandipora.
He took the opportunity to engage with the children in various outdoor activities, fostering an environment of learning, exploration, and camaraderie. He said that the camping site with serene surroundings provides an ideal setting for the children to connect with nature and expand their horizons.
While interacting with children, the DC expressed his delight in witnessing the young campers’ enthusiasm and determination to explore the outdoors. He emphasized the importance of outdoor activities for the overall development of children, promoting physical fitness and mental well-being, and instilling a sense of environmental stewardship.
Dr Owais, on the occasion, said that such endeavors not only promote social cohesion but also contribute to the holistic development of the region.
Praising the area, DC said that Bandipora is a beautiful region of Jammu and Kashmir, which is known for its breathtaking landscapes and vibrant culture.
Faisal Ali, on the occasion, informed that children from different schools and sports academies are taking part in camping. He said the purpose of such initiatives is to promote the natural beauty of district Bandipora and to develop a sense of strength among the participants.
