Jammu, Oct 04: BJP J&K President Ravinder Raina on Wednesday strongly condemned the opposition parties, unified under the Gupkar Alliance, for their call to protest on October 10, accusing them of plotting against the progress of Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking at a press conference in Jammu, Raina emphasised that these political groups are attempting to mislead the people of the Union Territory by organizing such protests.
The BJP leader criticised the opposition parties, including NC, PDP, and Congress, for their sudden urge to protest. He questioned their silence during the turbulent times when the entire region was grappling with violence, unrest, and uncertainty.
“Where were they when J&K was undergoing hardships, experiencing bloodshed on the streets? Why did they not organize such protests then? It is evident that they are feeling suffocated by the progress and prosperity that Jammu and Kashmir is now witnessing,” he said.
Referring to the opposition’s meeting held on Tuesday in Jammu under the leadership of MP Dr Farooq Abdullah, Raina highlighted their claims of the Government of India suspending the Constitution in J&K and depriving people of fundamental rights. He dismissed these allegations as baseless and stated that such assertions were part of a well-designed plan to deceive the people of the Union Territory.
Raina urged the people to remain vigilant against these attempts to hinder the development of Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasised the commitment of the BJP and its allies to continue working towards the region’s growth and prosperity.
