Budgam, Oct 04: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Akshay Labroo on Wednesday inaugurated various projects including Panchayat Ghar, playground, lane construction, beautification projects at Imambara, Sharika Mandir and local Masjid at Panchayat Halqa Ichgam in Block Budgam.
Soon after chairing the follow-up block diwas at Ichgam, the DC initiated various development projects in different halqas of Ichgam The other works include brick wall construction at a local Shrine, lawn development and tile works at Imam Bara Hajipora, development, filling and fencing of graveyard, foundation of two culverts at Najaf Colony Ichgam, foundation of Truss at Wuzukhana at Masjid Sharief Batapora, tile lane works at Hyder Haji, improvement works of local Sharika Temple and other works.
Earlier, speaking during block diwas function, the DC said that most of the projects which were raised in the last block diwas function have been completed or are nearing completion. These projects are being inaugurated today and are being dedicated to the general public.
“The work on some projects shall also be initiated today,” the DC said. He stressed that work on ongoing projects including lane and drain works, lawn development and tile works, road development be expedited and completed in a stipulated timeframe.
Other works to be taken under different sectors including KLC funds have also been finalised and work on the same shall also start in the shortest time period. He instructed the concerned officers to upgrade the required sports infrastructure as per the demands of local youths.
On the occasion, the DC also dedicated a sports kit to the local youth. He emphasised that work on approach road development at Panchayat Bhawan be also taken up at the earliest.
He said as many as 70 major works have been approved under district Capex for Panchayat Halqa of Block Budgam. The DC said work on ongoing projects shall be carried out in a swift and timely manner and shall be completed within the stipulated time frame for the convenience of the general public.
During Block Diwas, local PRIs including BDC Chairman Budgam, Ghulam Hassan Khan, elders and local youth delegations from villages Ichgam, Naroo, Qazibagh and other adjacent villages also participated.
