Shopian, Sep 11: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb on Monday undertook a visit to different areas of the town here to oversee and assess the progress of works and traffic management in the town.
He visited Sofanaman, Gagran, Zero Point and other areas and asked to make all possible efforts to ensure smooth traffic at the busiest intersections of the town.
The DC took an onsite appraisal of the widening of the Sofanaman- Pinjoora road and directed the concerned executing agency to speed up the work by deploying additional men and machinery and complete the works as soon as possible. He gave on-spot directions to concerned officers to remove the bottlenecks immediately so that works are completed on time.
Haseeb asked the concerned engineering wing to monitor the progress on a daily basis and said that it would also bring significant change in the movement of traffic flow in the Town. The DC was accompanied by ARTO Shopian, Tehsildar Shopian, Executive Engineer (R&B), JEs and others.
