Budgam, Aug 29: In a shocking incident that highlights the precarious working conditions faced by laborers, a tragic mishap occurred at the Government Middle School in Khag, located in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district, claiming the life of a laborer on Tuesday.
The victim, identified as Mustaq Ahmad Khoker, a resident of Lorain Khag, was employed to carry out demolition work on an old bathroom within the school premises. According to an official statement from the Police Station Khag, Mustaq Ahmad Khoker was diligently working within the bathroom when an unfortunate turn of events led to his untimely demise.
Eyewitnesses recounted that as Mustaq Ahmad Khoker worked relentlessly to dismantle the structure, a concrete slab suddenly gave way and plummeted down onto him. Trapped beneath the weight of the fallen slab, he suffered fatal injuries and died on the spot.
An official from the Police Station Khag confirmed that an accidental death report has been lodged in connection with the incident.
