Regarding the event, the DC IT said the income tax department relies on these types of outreach programs to ensure effective revenue mobilization. One of the main strategies is reaching out to tax players, DDOs, government employees, etc., to sensitize them and make them aware of their responsibilities and the importance of income tax in the overall scheme of things.
“I want to highlight that an honest taxpayer, when they pay taxes duly and on time, is contributing towards national development. The main idea behind this outreach program was to create awareness so that people understand the importance of tax-paying and can file their returns properly,” he said.
