It is an open secret now that Bangladesh has been indulging in activities that reveal not only antagonistic behavior towards India but it has ingrained hatred towards India. This has reached a new level after the dethronement of elected Sheikh Hasina. The brazen violation of the religious minorities and the vandalization of temples was meant to instigate the mob violence and provoke the religious radicals to indulge in genocidal attrition. It naturally evoked severe criticism and protest from India asking Bangladesh to stop these heinous crimes against the religious minorities trapped there , who have been reduced to hostages. This can be substantiated by the videos available on the social media that have gone viral and exposes the policy of persecution being orchestrated by the interim Bangladesh government led by Mohammad Yunus. Not only that Bangladesh has shown insensitivity towards the Indian interests in spite of the policy of goodwill and friendship being pursued by New Delhi. This has been evident with the Synergy between the armies of Bangladesh and Pakistan that has been established in the previous months once the destabilization and loot was at its peak after the street protests and genocidal attrition. The issue of the Bangladeshi infiltrators has been an old issue but with the recent developments the antagonism of Dhaka has reached the worst level. It is pertinent to mention that creation of Bangladesh was possible only with the Indian intervention in 1971 as the people of East Pakistan then were being subjected to genocide by the Pakistani politico-military establishment. China too has been fishing in the troubled waters to increase the problems for India using both Pakistan and Bangladesh as the launching pads to instigate and browbeat India. Bangladesh has taken a totally different trajectory and has betrayed its founding fathers and adopted religious theo-fascism as its national destiny and rejected the democratic values based on religious tolerance. Bangladesh is losing no opportunity to instigate India and give the signals of animosity. An inadvertent air violation by a Bangladeshi domestic airline in June must be seen in this context. India has raised this issue so that recurrence of such instances is prevented in the interest of the bilateral relations. The Indian government has raised this issue in the Parliament. The Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita has said in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha that the Government of India has expressed serious concerns over the continuing instances of illegal crossing by the Bangladeshis. It must be underlined that in the previous year the Government of India has condemned and protested against a social media post by an adviser of the Bangladesh Government showing an erroneous map of his country that was violating the territorial integrity and sovereignty of India. Raising serious concern over the violation of the airspace by Bangladesh, the Minister has said, “ Government of India raised an instance of inadvertent air violation by a Bangladesh domestic airline in June 2025, so that appropriate steps are taken to prevent recurrence of such instances.” He also said that India is  maintain a constant watch on all  developments  that have a bearing on the  India’s national interests and the as such the government is taking the necessary  measures to safeguard them .Substantiating the Indian  policy on this issue the MOS has said, “With a focus on self-reliance, from defence production to technological innovation, India has been strengthening its sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Government of India attaches the highest priority to the safety, security and welfare of Indian fishermen. The Government has been taking up all fishermen-related issues, including the early release and repatriation of Indian fishermen and fishing boats, with respective governments through diplomatic channels, various official interactions and established bilateral mechanisms.” India needs to recalibrate its Bangladesh policy so  its nefarious designs are nipped in the bud.
