Shopian, July 22: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta today presided over a distribution function of 70 sanction letters under the ambitious Mission Yuva scheme for entrepreneurship development and employment generation, organised at the Mini Secretariat Shopian.In a statement issued, the event was first of a kind held in the district, following clearance of cases for financial assistance by the District Level Committee.The function was attended by scores of aspiring entrepreneurs and young budding business owners who were handed over sanction letters by the Banks at the occasion and was a moment of great joy and satisfaction, ushering in a new phase of youth empowerment.The cases were sanctioned in various kinds of businesses including manufacturing, services, trade and agriculture.DC congratulated all the youth and the concerned departments besides banks for lending great support to the youth and wished that the new enterprises will succeed in creating ample opportunities for themselves and for other unemployed youth of the district.He appreciated the potential of the Mission and said this shall be instrumental in creating employment avenues for a vast majority of potential youth by developing a business ecosystem with integrated and connected businesses.Other officers of banks on the occasion spoke at length on various benefits in the form of subsidies, interest subventions and handholding support under the Mission.ADDC, Dr.Nasir Ahmad Lone; LDM Shopian and other heads of financial institutions and officials of the employment department were also present.
