Jammu, Jul 18: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Jasrota, Rajiv Jasrotia, along with officials from various government departments, organised a large-scale public Darbar and grievance redressal camp at village Juthana of Jasrota constituency on Friday to address the issues faced by residents of far-flung areas.
The event saw an overwhelming turnout of citizens from diverse localities and backgrounds, who came forward to voice their civic and administrative concerns, the MLA’s office said in a statement issued here. Citizens, including senior citizens, youth, women, and local representatives, discussed issues such as water and electricity supply, road repairs, sanitation, pension schemes, ration distribution, police services, and other public welfare matters.
Many attendees raised concerns regarding delays in pension payments, difficulties in accessing welfare schemes, and the need for better implementation and awareness of these programmes. Several residents sought assistance with financial aid and expressed the desire for improvements in existing welfare initiatives to ensure they reach those in need effectively.
Speaking at the occasion, Jasrotia reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that the Social Welfare Department and other relevant agencies address these issues promptly. He instructed officials to look into each concern and work towards swift resolution. “We will strive to improve the implementation of welfare programs and ensure that our citizens receive the benefits they are entitled to,” he assured.
The MLA personally listened to each individual and deputation, taking note of all concerns. He communicated several issues directly to the concerned departments, both verbally and through written directives. “The BJP is committed to grassroots governance. These public Darbars serve as an essential platform for citizens to connect directly with their representatives,” he said.
Jasrotia said the BJP believes in proactive governance and direct engagement with the public. “Public Darbars are a crucial forum where citizens can freely voice their concerns and receive on-the-spot responses. I am committed to ensuring that no genuine grievance goes unheard or unattended,” he said.
He added, “The Jana Darbar is an opportunity for us to listen to the concerns of our people and work towards resolving them. I have instructed officials to take immediate action on the grievances raised and ensure resolution within a specified timeframe. Our goal is to serve the people of Jasrota and improve their quality of life.”
Later, addressing the media, Jasrotia said: “I am pleased to convene this Jana Darbar, which allows us to listen to your concerns and work towards solutions. I assure you that the officials present have been instructed to act immediately on your grievances. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us serve our community better.”
He urged residents to utilise this platform fully, saying their suggestions and concerns are crucial for improving governance and the overall well-being of Jasrota’s citizens.
