Qazigund, July 10:A devotee from Uttar Pradesh undertaking the AmarnathYatra on foot reached Ramban on Thursday, sharing that he has been walking with a Kawar for the past 107 days.Harnam Prasad, a resident of Jasnagar in Lakhimpur district, said, “I started my journey from RameshwaramJyotirling to Baba Barfani, covering nearly 7,000 km.”“I left home on March 27. It’s been 107 days since I began walking. I have now reached Ramban and am slowly making my way towards the Banihal Tunnel,” he added. “I started alone, but the love I’ve received in Kashmir has been overwhelming. The support is tremendous, and the security arrangements are excellent and very helpful.”

Prasad also expressed his fondness for the people of Kashmir. “I like the people here a lot. What I’ve seen is nothing like the negative portrayals shown on news channels. My experience has been completely different,” he said. This is Prasad’s second foot pilgrimage to the holy cave. “Last time, I walked 2,200 km,” he shared.Another devotee who joined Prasad along the way said he began his yatra on foot from Mata Vaishno Devi. “Today is my fourth day. I was walking alone until Wednesday when I met this devotee on his KawarYatra to Amarnath,” he said.“I felt very happy and thought, why not join my brothers? Since then, I’ve been walking with them, and the journey has been filled with joy,” he added. “I don’t even realize the distance I’m covering now. With Baba Barfaniji’s blessings, our yatra is going smoothly.”He also encouraged more people from Jammu to take part in the pilgrimage. “Devotees come on foot from as far as 7,000 km — some even from abroad, including Nepal and Kathmandu. I appeal to the people of Jammu to join the Baba Barfaniyatra in greater numbers.”The devotee praised the arrangements and facilities along the route. “We receive support from the army at every point. Food and shelter are readily available. Everything is very well managed. The government has done a commendable job.”
