SMVDU earns spot in Times Higher Education World University rankings 2025

Katra, June 19: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, has achieved a significant milestone by securing a place in the 801–1000 band of the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2025. This recognition places SMVDU among the leading academic institutions globally and reflects its growing reputation for academic excellence and research innovation. In the THE Asia University Rankings 2025, SMVDU has been ranked in the 301–350 band, a remarkable achievement that showcases the university’s rising stature among premier Asian institutions. Additionally, in the THE India Rankings 2025, SMVDU has maintained its position in the 801–1000 band, affirming its steady progress among India’s higher education landscape. Adding to its accolades, SMVDU has demonstrated strong performance in subject-specific global rankings: Engineering: Ranked in the 601–800 band and Physical Sciences: Ranked in the 601–800 band

These achievements underscore SMVDU’s continuous investment in high-quality teaching, robust research infrastructure, and international academic partnerships. Collectively, these rankings highlight the university’s multidisciplinary strengths and its growing contribution to academia, research, innovation, and societal development. Expressing pride in the university’s accomplishments, Prof. Pragati Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of SMVDU, remarked: “This prestigious THE ranking validates our strategic focus on fostering a research-intensive ecosystem, nurturing quality education, and building a globally relevant academic culture.
