Srinagar, Jun 17: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA), Khanyar, Ali Mohammad Sagar on Tuesday chaired the maiden meeting of the Public Undertakings Committee at the Assembly complex here.
The meeting was attended by a majority of committee members, including MLAs Ali Mohammed Dar, Baldev Raj Sharma, Mir Mohammad Fayaz, R.S. Pathania, Showkat Hussain Ganai, Tanvir Sadiq and Saifu Din Bhat.
M.K. Pandita, Secretary of the Assembly, welcomed the members and briefed the chairman and participants about the committee’s role. He presented a detailed overview of the current status of all Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).
The meeting was attended by key officials, including the Director General of Accounts & Treasury, the Accounts General, and other relevant officials. The discussions primarily focused on critical issues related to the functioning and financial oversight of PSUs in Jammu and Kashmir. The committee reviewed ongoing initiatives, examined financial accountability measures, and discussed strategies to enhance operational efficiency within the public sector.
