Samba, June 14: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Samba, under the visionary leadership of Prof. B.N. Tripathi, Vice-Chancellor of SKUAST-Jammu and the able guidance of Dr. Amrish Vaid, Director Extension SKUAST-Jammu, is empowering farmers under the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan 2025. The initiative aims to enhance farmers’ access to updated agricultural knowledge and ensure the effective implementation of government schemes to foster sustainable agricultural development.
In a concerted effort to promote farmer welfare, KVK Samba, in collaboration with the Agriculture Office Samba and allied departments, on Thursday extended its outreach as part of the nation’s largest agricultural campaign — the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan. Prof. Sanjay Khajuria, Nodal Officer VKSA and Chief Scientist and Head KVK Samba, who is leading the programme at the district level, reiterated the importance of engaging directly with farmers to identify their concerns and gather feedback for improving service delivery at the grassroots level. Dr. Rakesh Khajuria, Joint Nodal Officer and Chief Agriculture Officer Samba, highlighted the government’s long-term vision to make Indian agriculture globally competitive. He was joined by Chief Horticulture Officer Samba, Sh. Anil Kumar Gorka. On the fourteenth day of the campaign, KVK Samba and allied departments covered nine villages across three blocks — Samba, Nud, and Ramgarh — under the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan Kharif 2025. This campaign in Jammu and Kashmir forms part of a broader nationwide initiative launched by the Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’.
