New Delhi, Dec 30: The Confederation of Indian Universities has selected Dr Raj Nehru, Vice Chancellor of Shri Vishwakarma Kaushal University, for the esteemed “National Skill-Based Training and Research Award 2023.” The award ceremony took place at the 20th annual celebration of the Confederation of Indian Universities at the India International Centre in Delhi, on Friday, December 29, 2023.
As the founder Vice Chancellor of the country’s pioneering State Skill University, Dr Raj Nehru has elevated the landscape of skill education in India. His pivotal role in national-level committees focusing on skill education standards and contributions aligning with the National Education Policy underscores his commitment to transforming the education sector.
Dr Raj Nehru’s noteworthy accomplishments include the establishment of the country’s first Innovative Skill School, introducing the “Earn while you Learn” model through on-the-job training, and seamlessly integrating classrooms with industry, thus generating new employment opportunities. His visionary leadership has not only shaped the trajectory of the first State Skill University but has also inspired other states across the nation to adopt this innovative model of skill education.
The Confederation of Indian Universities has recognized Dr Raj Nehru’s outstanding contributions and innovative initiatives in the field of skill education, presenting him with this prestigious award. The award ceremony also acknowledged Dr Nehru’s commitment to good governance, a recognition conferred upon him by the Haryana State Government last year.
Dr Raj Nehru, accompanied by his wife Mrs Sunaina Nehru, graciously received the National Skill-Based Training and Research Award 2023, marking another significant milestone in his distinguished career.
