Jammu, May 23: After conducting successful trial run, blood donation services will soon be started at Jammu AIIMS in Vijaipur
“The trial run for starting blood donation camp at Jammu AIIMS was conducted today to assess operational preparedness and it received an overwhelming response and the trial run was successful in all aspects and met all the required parameters,” AIIMS Director, Dr Shakti Gupta informed Rising Kashmir.
The internal blood donation drive (trial run) witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, medical staff, administrative personnel, and support teams, showcasing the institute’s (AIIMS) unwavering commitment to healthcare excellence and community welfare, he said.
The involvement of faculty and staff reflects our dedication not only to deliver world-class medical care but also to set a strong example in public health leadership, he said.
This successful trial run is a significant step towards full-scale operations of our Blood Centre at Jammu AIIMS, he said.
Once made functional, the blood donation centre at AIIMS will be instrumental in ensuring timely and safe blood availability—not just at AIIMS, but also for other healthcare institutions across the region, especially during emergencies.
After the successful trial run conducted today, AIIMS Vijaypur will roll out regular blood donation drives and awareness campaigns targeting educational institutions, corporate bodies, NGOs, and social groups, the AIIMS Director said.
