Srinagar, May 11: Khwajah Farooq Renzushah, Chairman of Tahreek-e-Dawat-e-Tasawuf International and Jamaat Aitqaad Hanafiya International, Sunday visited the revered shrine of Hazrat Syed Shams Baghdadi (RA) at Daen Home, Harwan and offered prayers for peace and spiritual protection for Kashmir and the nation.
He noted that on May 8, a large gathering of Tasawuf devotees, scholars and legislators also prayed at the shrine. Renzushah credited the recent ceasefire to the influence of spiritual forces and the prayers of living saints (Awliya). Highlighting the historical and communal significance of Hazrat Shams Baghdadi, he praised his role in promoting harmony in Harwan Valley. He reaffirmed that the spiritual legacy of Bulbulshah and Shah Hamdaan continues to shape Kashmir’s composite culture.
Renzushah urged the government to revive the long-delayed Harwan tunnel project linking Baba Nagri via Faqeer Gujri and Bulbulshah Pal Aastan Marag. He said the tunnel, first proposed in 2003, would connect key spiritual sites across regions and enable quicker access for devotees of all faiths, including those travelling to Amarnath.
He also advocated for the Mahadev Gondola project between Pahalgam and Srinagar, and improvements in road connectivity from Chandpora to Daenhama bridge via Harwan Police Station. Speaking to the media, Renzushah commended the caretakers of the shrine, including Jenab Magray Sahib and Imam Sahib, for their contributions. He proposed shifting the Srinagar checkpoint to Faqeer Gujri for better management.
