Srinagar, Apr 26: National Conference (NC) Chief Spokesperson and MLA Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq Saturday said the J&K government will prioritise the development of crucial public infrastructure in Srinagar, aiming to improve the quality of life in urban areas that have been neglected since 2015.
He said this while interacting with the people during his tour of various areas of Zadibal constituency to inspect Water Supply schemes and ensure that drinking water supply is available for the Zadibal constituency before the onset of summer.
Sadiq also visited the site of a major project, the construction of a Gallon Overhead Tank at Bagwanpora. “The work is progressing swiftly at a cost of around Rs 1 crore. Once completed, it will cater to the water needs of Amda Kadal, Bharar, Bagwanpora, Lalbazar, Botkadal, Hawal, and surrounding areas,” a statement issued here said.
The MLA expressed gratitude to Jal Shakti Minister Javed Rana for ensuring Srinagar city gets an adequate supply of drinking water. He was accompanied by officials from the PHE Department and the party’s local unit functionaries.
Tanvir, echoing the sentiments of the public, said the government led by Omar Abdullah is well aware of the issues faced by the residents of Srinagar. “These issues have been neglected by previous administrations since 2015, but under Omar Abdullah’s leadership, the government is committed to addressing them,” he said.
The NC leader said the government is currently working on streamlining important projects in Srinagar, with a focus on prioritising those of significant public importance.
