Jammu, Mar 15: The Back to Village (B2V) Programme in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) has shown remarkable progress in executing development works across districts, reflecting efficient governance, public participation, and systematic execution.
This information was provided in the House on Saturday by the government in response to a query from BJP MLA Vikram Singh Randhawa.
Launched in 2019, the B2V Programme aims to strengthen governance at the grassroots level by bridging the gap between the administration and the people.
The government highlighted the progress made by various districts: Bandipora (98.84%), Srinagar (95.12%), Ganderbal (94.25%), Budgam (91.09%), Kathua (91%), Kupwara (92.20%), Shopian (83.96%), Pulwama (86.27%), Samba (88%), Poonch (79%), Anantnag (68.68%), Jammu (72%), Kishtwar (72%), Baramulla (62.30%)
These districts have maintained strong momentum, ensuring steady execution of works at the grassroots level, the government said, adding that the high participation of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), local bodies, and residents has been instrumental in the smooth execution of developmental initiatives in J&K.
The government said that a total expenditure of Rs 35,342.92 lakh has been incurred on the B2V Programme since its inception.
Implemented in five phases, the B2V Programme has addressed 2,145 out of 2,296 complaints received during its operation, further demonstrating its effectiveness.
