Leh, March 08: In a bid to promote employment and self-reliance among Minority and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities in Ladakh, the Sindhu Infrastructure Development Corporation (SIDCO), Leh, Saturday convened its first Project Implementation Committee (PIC) meeting under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including Sonam Norbo (Senior Manager, SIDCO), A.G. Zargar (General Manager, DIC Leh), Delex Namgyal (Deputy Director, Employment Leh), Tsering Wangmo (Lead Bank Officer, Leh), Inzar Ahmed Rana (ARTO Leh) and Stanzen Paksang (District Manager, SIDCO Leh).
Officials told Rising Kashmir that during the session, the Committee unanimously approved 25 out of 65 applicants for loan sanctions under the National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC) and the National Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation (NSTFDC) schemes. “These initiatives aim to drive economic empowerment and job creation across the region,” the officials said.
Additionally, the Committee resolved to clear all pending loan cases registered under the former Jammu and Kashmir administration. With these cases addressed, SIDCO will officially commence sanctioning loan schemes in both Leh and Kargil districts, the officials said.
They said that the eligible applicants keen to benefit from these schemes are encouraged to visit SIDCO offices in Leh and Kargil for further details and registration.
