Inspector General (IG) Border Security Force (BSF), Kashmir Frontier, Ashok Kumar Yadav on Sunday underscored the force’s robust preparedness in thwarting potential infiltration along the sensitive Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing reporters, during the commemoration of 59th BSF Raising Day at the Humhama campus in Srinagar.
IG BSF Yadav acknowledged the persistent threat of infiltration, particularly accentuated during the harsh winter conditions.
“Despite the traditionally diminished chances of infiltration during peak winters, he emphasized the BSF’s proactive approach in countering any such attempts. This involves the strategic deployment of special area domination patrol parties and ambushes to effectively block identified infiltration routes and vulnerable patches,” he said.
Highlighting the collaborative efforts with the Army, IG BSF Yadav pointed to the success of joint operations in the previous year, specifically designed to counter intelligence inputs regarding potential infiltrations. These joint endeavors resulted in the successful foiling of numerous infiltration attempts, he said.
IG BSF highlighted BSF’s commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements.
In addition to the dedication of troops actively dominating the LoC, the force continually integrates new surveillance equipment and technologies. This continuous enhancement aims to fortify their capabilities and ensure a robust defense against infiltration threats, he added.
Turning attention to the security situation, IG BSF Yadav said the absence of ceasefire violations in the Kashmir frontier. However, he acknowledged incidents along the international border and asserted the BSF’s vigilance and capacity to counter any provocations from across the border.
Anticipating potential infiltration attempts, Yadav disclosed receiving intelligence inputs indicating the presence of individuals on launching pads, actively seeking routes and opportune moments for infiltration.
He also reassured that the BSF is well-prepared and resolute in its commitment to thwart all such attempts, demonstrating a comprehensive and vigilant approach to border security.
