DPAP Senior Leader Peer Bilal is advocating for a significant increase in the monthly honorarium for widows in Jammu and Kashmir, from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000, in the upcoming budget session of the J&K Assembly.
This demand highlights the tremendous hardships faced by widows in the region, who are struggling to make ends meet.
Peer Bilal’s proposal aims to provide much-needed financial support to these vulnerable individuals, enabling them to cope with the challenges of daily life. The current honorarium of Rs 1,000 is woefully insufficient, and the proposed increase to Rs 5,000 would be a significant step towards alleviating their financial burdens.
Peer said more than two lac beneficiaries are getting Rs 1000 as monthly honorarium under ISSS and NOAPS in Kashmir.
