KU condoles demise of Prof. Ali Mohammad Shah

Srinagar, Jan 23: The University of Kashmir (KU) expressed profound grief over the demise of Prof. Ali Mohammad Shah, former Dean, School of Sciences and Director, Centre of Research for Development (CORD) who passed away on January 23.
A condolence meeting in this regard was held at the varsity, chaired by the Vice-Chancellor KU Prof. Nilofer Khan to remember Prof. Shah’s work and contributions.
Prof. Shah, a distinguished academician, had initially joined the university as a faculty member in the Department of Botany, where he contributed to teaching and research.
Prof. Nilofer Khan described Prof. Shah as a dedicated academician whose contributions to the university’s academic and research ecosystem were immense.
“Prof. Shah’s scholarly work, leadership, and commitment to education have left an indelible mark on this institution. He will be remembered for his invaluable service to the University,” she said.
Dean Academic Affairs KU, Prof. Shariefuddin Pirzada, Dean College Development Council KU Prof. Khurshid Ahmad Butt, Registrar KU Prof Naseer Iqbal and Director CORD KU, Prof. Bashir A. Ganai, also extended their condolences.
The condolence meeting was attended by various deans, heads of the department, administrative officers and staff of the varsity.
The university fraternity prayed for the departed soul and expressed heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.
